VIT. E: Biological antioxidant - In the presence of a-tocopherol, the radicals generated during lipoperoxidation combine with a-tocopherol rather than with other fatty acids. This phenomenon ends the chain of reactions, as the resulting free radicals of tocopherol are unable to attack the adjacent fatty acid chains.RETINAL: Triggers molecular switches in skin cells, called retinoid receptors. These influence various intracellular processes by activating cell growth and differentiation, promoting protein synthesis (including collagen and elastin), regulating sebum production, and bio-protecting the cellular clock that governs cell lifespan (TELOMERES), stimulating neoangiogenesis, and indirectly inhibiting MMPs (enzymes responsible for breaking down collagen and elastin). MMPs can easily become overactive, and are a major factor in the formation of wrinkles and sagging skin. Improves the compactness of the Stratum Corneum, reduces pigmentation in the basal layer, and ensures more even melanosome distribution.
